CHOREOGRAPHIC LAB
CHOREOGRAPHIC LAB WITH ROSALIND CRISP
ReadyMade Works welcomes expressions of interest for our upcoming six-day choreographic lab with Rosalind Crisp, running Sunday 10 - Friday 15 August 11am - 4.30pm. Cost: $500
Disorder is a lumpy thing
Rosalind Crisp's artistic obsession is in using compositional tools to forget movements and reveal instead how they can be forever reforming when undone from set patterns and meanings. Her practice works with the changingness that is the reality of our material bodies - and that reflects, more and more starkly, the world we are undoing - extinguishing entire eco-systems, breaking down climate, perpetrating genocide. Her compositional tools empower dance-makers to absorb, recreate and transmit this lumpy changingness. The first day of the Lab will be an excursion with Ros into her practice (see excursion event below), to be chewed on over the next five days. Don't forget to put your teeth in!
To express interest in taking part in this six-day lab, please email ReadyMade Works director Jane McKernan with a short artist bio and a short description of your current practice/interests/investigations and how this lab might contribute to your practice.
The call for EOIs closes on Friday May 23rd, and participants will be notified by June 16th if they have been offered a place. Full payment will be required by July 25th. There are 15 places available.
